What a pleasant surprise! This author's series came highly recommended to me by another rock star romance avid reader who appears to love the rock star romance just as much as I do. Conor and Felicity. This series hits many realistic scenarios. This one in particular, there's no other way to put it, Conor's just a hot, alpha, adonis, gorgeous talented rock star. Personally, there's nothing really tragic in his life but he never forgets what his band mate, Gavin, what his childhood tragedy was like. He's your typical rock star, sleeps and dates only the elite models and actresses because of his stunning "pretty" looks. In high school, he and Felicity were friends with benefits because it was convenient for both. After she left Ireland for college as she said she always would, ever after she married someone from Canada, her and Conor always remained close friends throughout the years. After her husband leaves her suddenly and cruelly, she returns home to take care of her sick mother reconnecting with Conor and the rest or Rogue once again. To say they have many obstacles is an understatement. Conor's engaged to a brat, Colette, while he's also trying to mend his shaky relationship with Gavin after his one night with Sophie. Each band mate is moving forward with their lives while Conor is first figuring out the real relationship thing and slowly realizing he doesn't want to be a part of Colette's immature games of manipulation any more. It's beautiful to watch him grow and blossom. Really it's nice to see how they all grow together as a family. Conor and Sophie's unique friendship is still there, always in the background but read every book to see how it goes. Incredible. I love them all, you will too.Just brilliant. I despise cheating and three somes in any romance novel, so much so that I usually refuse to read anything with it but when I say this is the exception I kid you not. Especially once you read this entire series, as each book is incredible, there's no way Sophie will not be possibly your favorite heroine of all time. This author, Lara, has the skill to not only focus on each band mate individually giving them their own book but every single other band mate and character is touched upon strongly in each read. All of their day to day lives flow perfectly in each book but the introduction to Gavin, Conor, Shay "Seamus" and Martin "Marty" was exceptional, you're just sucked in and don't want to come up until you've finished Finding Rhythm. Gavin, Conor, Shay, Marty, Sophie and Felicity were there from the very beginning in high school when they were just starting to form Rogue and throughout the entire series these same characters remain a constant in each book. That is not an easy feat to accomplish but Lara did it brilliantly with much growth and maturity to each character. Their bond was felt constantly through her words and their actions not just read about.
After reading a lot of rock star reads and finally finding a more mature 5* incredible series by B.B. Miller and Leslie Carson, I've been extremely selective on my reads. There will be no more whiny, immature heroines for me or man whores with groupies left and right so when this recommendation was suggested to me by me voicing the same I didn't think it was possible for someone to fulfill what Redfall has begun but Lara's work did just that! Rogue is definitely a reread for me.
Great story, yes! Believable, yes! Characters, love them, especially the hero and heroine in this one. Threesomes, no. Cursing, yes, but nothing crazy, it's a rock star read. Sexy, yes, Conor is the sexiest of this bunch. HFN, yes. I recommend not only this book but the entire series.

Yes, it's another emotional read with very intense and overwhelming scenarios that are impactful and memorable. I was livid after reading the first book in the series, but the more I read and get to understand about the diverse uniqueness and eccentricities of the characters, it's the more enamoured I am by them. The plot is one that you can get into and have you second guessing an outcome ahead of time that they have you engaged and caught up in their tragedy, drama and antics in an endearing way.
I can't say I was happy with Gavin and Sophie to begin with, they got on my last nerve with their neediness and tendencies to cling to pain and make a mess of their lives and draw Conor into their drama. But I am quite happy with the turn out this time around in their life's. Gavin crashing and hitting rock bottom, then getting up and assessing the mess he has made of his life and how it had affected others around him. Then systematically working at fixing himself and eventually working at healing all the rifts with his friends and his marriage. I am most impressed by Sophie, how she was able to pull herself back together after her breakdown and start living again. I loved that she refused to bend backwards to please Gavin and how she made him work at earning her trust and getting her back.
Conor have been a trial from the get go but his intentions are normally from a good place. This time around he had a lot on his plate and his way of dealing with everything happening in his life was a collision waiting to happen. His relationship with Collette was just too much drama and unnecessary hype that might work for him for a while, but definitely not long term. His undecisiveness was extremely frustrating at times and made me want to scream and hit him with something over the head for him to open his eyes to the chaos he was causing in his life. But he eventually got his act together and fix his mess and he his working at himself and his relationship with Felicia who sees him for who he is and accepts all that he is.
Shay the reserved, quiet and unassuming one is starting to be more in the midst and feeling needed. His ability to observe everything and everyone around him is paying off in helping his friends look at their issues from someone on the outside looking in. But his is relationship with Jessica on the brink of collapse because of his addict brother?
Martin and Celia's marriage seems to be working out pretty well with their three (3) boys in the mix. Hence, things are looking up in all their lives and it's on to the next chapter of their story.
