Sweet Rome Sweet Home Series Book 2 edition by Tillie Cole Literature Fiction eBooks
I was in the mood for a sport romance story, specifically one about a football player. During my search in my library I came across the book ‘Sweet Rome’ by Tillie Cole. I remembered reading the first book ‘Sweet home’ and loving it. I also remembered trying this book after the first book but it was too soon, ‘Sweet home’ was still too ‘lively’ into my mind.Because the book ‘Sweet Rome’ is namely the same story as ‘Sweet home’ but this time it’s told from Rome’s POV.
I decided to give it another try now because this time, enough time had passed for me to enjoy the story again. And I’m sooo happy I did because I just loved it. You really experience Rome’s pain in this story, his loneliness and his feelings for Molly. But what I loved most of all are the epilogues at the end of the story and yes! I said epilogues (plural!!!). They really touched my heart. For those alone I’m very happy that I read this book.
Do you have to read the first book to read this one? I would recommend it because I think you will get more out of ‘Sweet Rome’ if you read ‘Sweet home’ first but I would recommend that you leave some time between reading the first book and this one. Or not if you’re very curious ;)

Sweet Rome Sweet Home Series Book 2 edition by Tillie Cole Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
5 stars (Originally read 2/1/2014)
5 Stars (Re-read 10/21/2016)
Overall Opinion I still loved this one! It'll definitely stay on my favorites shelf, and I have no desire to change my rating from 5 stars! I would highly recommend reading Sweet Home first. I read them in order, and I don't think that this packed as a big of a punch as that one did the first time I read it. Don't get me wrong -- this one tapped into my emotions for sure (as Ms. Cole always seems to do), but I think that Molly's POV is too valuable to miss! This is a retelling of that story from Rome's POV, and I know that some readers get irritated by the repetition, but I thought that it is awesome to get Rome's POV and more back story into his family life. And the ending and epilogue?!? Too good to pass up!! Even if you have no desire to read the full story (after reading Sweet Home), I think the ending and epilogue alone are worth the read for the closure. One of my top favorite endings in a book to date!

Brief Summary of the Storyline This is Molly and Rome's story. They meet one day before class, and Rome is instantly intrigued with the nerdy British girl that doesn't have a clue who he is. He is the star quarterback for the university, so this is definitely not something that he is used to. Molly ends up being his TA, and they bump into each other through other events around campus as well. They forge an instant connection through shared loneliness and painful pasts, and fall in love. They have some major drama with family and ex-flings, have some hot sexy times, as well as some sweet and sad moments...and they get a HEA ending.
POV This was told in Rome's POV.
Overall Pace of Story Good. I never skimmed and it flowed well.
Instalove No, I felt like the had good development into stronger feelings. They did have an instant connection though.
H rating 5 stars. Rome. Poor Rome. I felt so bad for all of the horrible things he had to deal with. Yes, he was a manwhore with anger issues before Molly -- but I loved him!
h rating 4 stars. Molly. I liked her nerdy, sweet ways. The only issue I have is her pushing Rome away when he needed her.
Sadness level Low/moderate. I remember crying like a baby in the first book, but because I knew what to expect in this one I didn't cry. I did choke up a few times when we were getting their HEA (in the good way ;D)
Push/Pull Not really
Heat level Moderate. They have some hot chemistry and scenes, but not so much that it takes away from the storyline.
Descriptive sex Yes
OW/OM drama Yes
Sex scene with OW or OM No
Cheating No
Separation Yes
Closure This had great closure. This has to be one of my absolute favorite endings to a book!! We get a lot of closure and a good sense of security in their relationship with a long jump ahead epilogue. HEA for sure!
How I got it I paid $2.99 on for it back in 2014.
I find that I'm not quite sure what to rate this. I read this in one day (the day after i read Sweet home) and there are things I absolutely love (the quiet nerd getting the guy and finding her backbone, the tough hero finding solace in the girl) and things that I wasn't a fan of (the angst and sadness was a little too much for me, especially with the loss of the baby. I saw it coming, but I hated that the author took it there. I felt they suffered enough and it was unnecessary. You don't have to have some dumb problem to break apart the main characters to have a good story. Their relationship also bordered on unhealthy). If you like the Christmas movie It's a Wonderful Life where one bad thing after another happens to the main character for the very long movie and this is supposedly justified and okay because of the quick ending where the neighbors and friends come together to help the main character, then you'll probably like this story. This story is much darker though, there's child abuse, anger issues, a bit of an unhealthy relationship, and a lot of sadness. This is why it's hard for me to review, there were some editing issues, but the story itself was fresh for the most part, just much more sad than I like to read for fun (I know I'm the minority, but I hate It's a Wonderful Life movie). I don't know if I will be rereading this one or not, time will tell I suppose. I will say I like this one better than Sweet Home in that you understand where he's coming from better so the relationship doesn't seem so dysfunctional and unhealthy. There is also more of their story and what happened after they were finally married. However, I wouldn't say to completely skip Sweet Home otherwise you do miss a lot about Molly's background as well, and I could see someone not liking her if they only read Rome's story.
